Just got an email from Mobango that they’ve featured ‘Drippy the Raindrop’ as their game of the day. This is the first time any of my games has been featured by any app store (as far as I remember, anyway :) ) so I think this is pretty cool :) You can see the promotion on their Twitter feed and Facebook page:

It’ll be interesting to see what effect this has on the game’s downloads.

Here’s the Flurry chart for Drippy’s new users:

I released the game on July 14th, and released an update on August 4th. So those two spikes are accounted for. After that, I haven’t released any updates, and the game settled down to about 10-20 new users a day. I figured that’s where it would stay. But something happened on September 15th that caused the downloads to jump, and they’ve been higher since then. I’ve kept an eye on this, expecting it to die down after a while. As reported by Flurry. Less than 34,000 of those are from the Google Android market, so it’ll still take some time for the Market page to update to the next “50,000 – 100,000″ bracket. Bus Jumper also crossed 100 ratings, although I only have 49 5-star ratings, still waiting for the 50th :) In other milestone news, Drippy crossed 1,000 downloads on Google (and is close to 2,000 downloads total).

I released an ad-free version of Drippy the Raindrop. This seems like a fairly kid-friendly game to me, and maybe some parents will prefer to have an ad-free version for their kids. I have all the ads set to “no adult content”, but I still see some “Meet sexy singles” kinds of ads show up on my games. While those aren’t ‘adult’ in the strict sense of the term, I could imagine that some parents might not want their kids seeing or clicking on those ads.
