  1. First of all congratulations on released game. :) I wish you much success with this title.

You can consider implementing push notification library in your game (http://deacon.daverea.com/) on that way you can update your icon with some number which denoting the number of messages in app. On that way you can make close communication with customers, have you thought about this?

    • I checked out deacon. At first I thought you were suggesting a push-notification ad library, which surprised me a bit :) But I see that deacon is for me to send out my own notifications. Swarm has that feature, and I’ve kept it enabled for now, we’ll see if I end up using it. But I think Swarm will only send a message to the notification bar, and I can choose if clicking on it opens my app, or sends them to the market, etc. I think deacon would allow my app to receive the message, and then it could take whatever action it wants? That’s an interesting idea, I’ll have to think about it.

      • Yes, idea is to send a message to the app not to notification bar on that way you dont spam their phones and also you can change look of app icon, for example, put some sign in corner of icon and user can be informed that he has a new message.
It reminds me on some sort of in-app mail box.

      • By the way I hate notification spams that are served by some ad firms and developers, from user perspective ofcourse, but from developer perspective I understand why they need to take these moves.

Sorry for my poor english skills, I am from EU.

        • Your English is fine :) Yes, now I understand what deacon is about, and I agree, it sounds like a very interesting concept. Updating the icon based on some data would be something that should catch the user’s attention. I’ll have to think about how I could incorporate something like this. Thanks for letting me know about this.
